LA PINE, OR INPATIENT
KLEAN® Treatment Centers is proud to announce the expansion of its Native American (NA) and descendants drug and alcohol treatment program at its LaPine, OR location. KLEAN will launch the program in the first quarter of 2018. In addition to restructuring the program to meet Native American needs, there will also be renovations and updates to the LaPine facility. KLEAN is geographically positioned to meet the needs of the Native American population of the Pacific Northwest. KLEAN’s services are open to all Native Americans.
KLEAN will continue treating the Native American population by addressing their specific spiritual and cultural needs. Just as many treatment centers cater to mainstream religious preferences to achieve sobriety, KLEAN has adapted its treatment modality to include Native American customs and spirituality. This focus on spirituality is nothing new to the recovery community.
In fact, Bill W. and Dr. Bob, the founders of Alcoholics Anonymous, posited that the best solution to the problem of addiction was spirituality. Their program, the 12 steps, is often criticized as being specific to Christianity, but their literature consistently strives for inclusion of all beliefs and practices. KLEAN honors that inclusive philosophy and recognizes that it must be adapted to include spiritual practices that are specific to Native Americans.
KLEAN’s Native-focused treatments include talking circles, smudging, addressing generational trauma, and other ceremonies. Through these practices, KLEAN staff helps patients heal the mental and emotional difficulties that lead to, and intensify, addiction.
Additionally, when patients are welcomed into a setting that acknowledges and supports the traditions of their culture, they are likely to be more receptive to change and growth. KLEAN hopes that their Native patients will return to their communities as voices for positive change and a return to a non-addicted way of life where their spirits and ancestors are honored.
